The Bateira straw hat is perhaps the most reconizable model of the traditional Portuguese straw headgear. Its name is taken from a typical wooden fishing boat of Ria de Aveiro, a vast lagoon just on the other side of Costa Nova.

The Bateira model is also gender-neutral and comes with a removable snap hat band, which makes it possible for you to choose your own favourite (or favourites) according to the intended look.
